Dorsey's Search manager released on bond in theft case

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Anne Darrin, the former Dorsey's Search village manager accused of embezzling more than $70,000 from the Columbia Association, turned herself in Friday to authorities and was released after a bail review hearing.

Darrin, 49, of Baltimore was released on an unsecured $50,000 bond. She is charged in a nine-count indictment with felony and misdemeanor theft charges and is scheduled for trial in September.

Prosecutors said Darrin took the $70,000 between 1994 and 1998. Neither Darrin nor her attorney returned telephone calls seeking comment.
