Severn teen-ager killed, nine others injured in four-car collision on I-97 in Anne Arundel

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A teen-ager was killed and nine other people were injured late Sunday in a four-car collision on Interstate 97 in Anne Arundel County that closed the northbound lanes for more than three hours, state police said.

Police said Stephen Charles Sorenson, 17, of Severn was traveling south on I-97 near Route 32 in Crownsville when his car crossed the median and hit three cars about 9: 15 p.m.

State police spokesman Peter A. Piringer said authorities are investigating whether drag-racing might have caused the accident.
