Inside artists' studios

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Once the prerogative of princes and potentates, a visit to an artist's studio is now something everyone can experience during Baltimore's 11th Annual Open Studio Tour this Saturday and Sunday from noon until 5 p.m.

The tour, sponsored by the Mayor's Advisory Committee on Art and Culture and School 33 Art Center, allows the public to meet more than 75 local artists in their working environments. The event kicks off with an exhibition and reception tomorrow at School 33 at 7 p.m. that features works by artists on the tour, as well as music, refreshments and a wine tasting by Woodhall Vineyards. The center will also provide maps with the names, studio addresses and media of all participating artists.

School 33 is located at 1427 Light St. Downtown studios (south of North Avenue) will be open on Saturday. Uptown studios (north of North Avenue) will be open Sunday. There is a suggested donation of $5. For more information, call 410-396-4641.
