Betsy Gaines

Roland Park, lacrosse

The senior midfielder scored 18 goals and had eight assists in five games last week for the No. 3 Reds. She totaled 10 goals and three assists in wins over Sidwell Friends (19-9) and Germantown Academy (15-5) as the Reds won their North/South Tournament. She also contributed three goals and two assists, including a goal with 47 seconds left to tie No. 4 Notre Dame Prep, 11-11. A first-team All-Metro player in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse, Gaines has 30 goals and 15 assists this season.

Josh Lesko

Annapolis, lacrosse

The junior midfielder scored 15 goals and assisted on six in three games for the seventh-ranked Panthers. Lesko also won 70 percent of his faceoffs for the Panthers, who are the defending Class 3A-4A state champions. Lesko scored five times in each of the games for Annapolis, which improved to 7-1.
