J.L. Reppert had three goals as 13th-ranked Navy defeated Mount St. Mary's, 11-7, yesterday in men's lacrosse at Dewey Field in Annapolis.
The Midshipmen (6-5) broke from a 3-3 tie in the second quarter with five consecutive goals for an 8-3 lead early in the third period.
Goucher 8, Marymount 7: The visiting Gophers (5-9) rallied from a 5-2 deficit in the third quarter to win a first-round game of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament. Tim Asher had three goals for Goucher.
Women
American 14, Mount St. Mary's 9: Eleni Vagelatos scored five goals and had an assist as the visiting Eagles (7-6) beat the Mountaineers (7-7).
St. Mary's 13, Marymount 2: Gia Trionfo (six goals, two assists) and Kelly Fetter (three, one) combined for nine goals and three assists as the host Seahawks (12-3) advanced in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament. St. Mary's plays at Mary Washington in Friday's semifinal.
Goucher 21, Catholic 8: Freshman Lauren Manekin (Park) had eight goals and three assists to lead the host Gophers (6-8) in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament. Goucher plays at top seed Salisbury State on Friday in the semifinals.
Western Maryland 17, Villa Julie 6: Centennial Conference scoring leader Meaghan Giorno had five goals and Amy North (Liberty) had four as the host Green Terror (6-4) won its third straight.
Washington College 14, Messiah 4: Heather Cranmer and Linda Fortucci each had three goals as the host Shoremen (9-4) won for the fourth time in five games.
