Brewers: The triple play was the third in club history and first since July 28, 1997.

Phillies: Bobby Abreu's grand slam was the first by a Philadelphia player since Bobby Estalella hit one last Aug. 16 at Colorado. Curt Schilling's triple was the first by a Philadelphia pitcher since Danny Jackson hit one on June 18, 1994 at Montreal. Scott Rolen went 0-for-3, ending his nine-game hitting streak. The only longer season-opening hitting streak by a Phillie was Don Demeter's 11-game stretch in 1963.

Reds: Sean Casey, leading the NL with a .517 average coming in, went 0-for-2 and dropped to .484 (15-for-31) after his first hitless game this season. Cincinnati failed to homer for the first time this season.
