Blue Jays update
Toronto (6-4) is in third place in the AL East, 1 1/2 games behind New York. The Blue Jays took two of three from the Orioles at Camden Yards last weekend. They chased Ponson in the third inning after scoring five times, and tore into the Orioles' bullpen last Sunday to ruin Linton's chances at his first victory since September 1996. Hentgen was pulled in the fifth after allowing four runs and six hits. All four runs came in the first inning, three scoring on Harold Baines' homer. Darrin Fletcher hit a three-run homer off Jesse Orosco in the seventh. He is batting .379. Hamilton has been an early bust since coming from San Diego. Guzman returns to the city he called home for parts of eight seasons. In one start there last season after being traded to the Orioles, the Blue Jays jumped on him for six runs in 4 2/3 innings.
