THE BALTIMORE SUN

In Monday's editions, an Associated Press article quoted the head of Qantas airlines as saying that neither he nor his top executives would fly on New Year's Eve because of uncertainty about the effect of the year 2000 computer bug on aviation safety.

James Strong, chief executive officer, said he and other officials will not fly because they want to be on the ground to deal with any Y2K-related problems.

The Sun regrets the error.
