Antique car show

Ask any auto buff at the Antique Car Show in Cockeysville Saturday, and they'll assure you they don't make them like they used to make them. Indeed, older is often better when it comes to cars. See an array of oldies but goodies at the car show at the House and Farm Museum in Cockeysville. Members of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Chesapeake region, will show off their many antique vehicles.

The car show runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the House and Farm Museum, 9811 Van Buren Lane in Cockeysville. Free. Call 410-592-5558.

A day of 'Ed-Venture'

A day of outdoor fun, interactive exhibits, live entertainment, puppetry, crafts, music and more awaits children ages 5 and under and their families Saturday at the Outdoor Plaza at Port Discovery. The event, "Family Ed-Venture Day: Celebrating Young Children," offers hands-on fun from the Baltimore Zoo, Baltimore Aquarium, Babe Ruth Museum, Maryland Science Center, Port Discovery and others. Perform- ances include musician Josef Engelbrecht, the Dunbar Jazz Band and others; readings by Frances Hughes Glendening; jugglers, stilt-walkers, costume characters and more.

"Family Ed-Venture Day: Celebrating Young Children" is part of a statewide, monthlong celebration, April being Month of the Young Child in Maryland. The event is sponsored by the Governor's Office for Children, Youth and Families, the Ready At Five Partnership and a statewide planning committee.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Outdoor Plaza at Port Discovery, 35 Market Place. If it rains, plaza will be covered by a tent. Free. Call 410-767-4182.
