South Carroll High honors 4 for their contributions

South Carroll High School's Student Recognition Committee selected seniors Dave Keefer, Ashly Ebling, Sarah Jenkins and David DeMay recently as students of the month.

Keefer is active in football, basketball, Varsity Club, Class of 1999 Executive Board and Student Government Association and is a student aide. He has been class vice president all four years of high school.

Ebling is SGA vice president, National Honor Society secretary, co-editor of the school newspaper, a peer facilitator, tennis player and member of the Stagelighters drama group and class executive board. She also is active in the community.

Jenkins is president of the Environmental Club, a lawyer on the mock trial team, National Honor Society member, a peer facilitator, a singer in several school groups and is taking voice and music lessons. She also played field hockey and has been involved in academic programs.

DeMay has been active on the school's Web site for two years, has helped set up computers in the school and assists in the media center.

Fires

Mount Airy: Firefighters from Mount Airy, Lisbon and New Market responded to a report of a plane down at Park Avenue and Windy Knoll Drive at 3: 35 p.m. Friday. Units were out 10 minutes.
