Jean G. Emmons, 89, homemaker, ran gift shop
Jean G. Emmons, a homemaker who ran the gift shop at New Children's Hospital for many years, died in her sleep Friday at Blakehurst Life Care Community in Towson. She was 89.
The former resident of Homeland and Ruxton had lived at Blakehurst since 1993.
The former Jean Graham was born and raised in Roland Park and graduated from Roland Park Country School. She was a member of the hospital's board, the Baltimore Country Club and the L'Hirondelle Club. Her marriage to Dr. Frank Slaughter ended in divorce.
In 1942, she married Charles Cadwell Emmons Sr., former director of development at Gilman School, who died in 1996.
She was a lifelong and active member of Roland Park Presbyterian Church, 4801 Roland Ave., where a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. today.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. D. Graham Slaughter of Hampstead and Charles C. Emmons Jr. of Ruxton; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Charles Frederick Smith, 82, engineer, Army veteran
Charles Frederick Smith, a retired engineer who was active in veterans organizations, died Saturday of a heart attack at St. Agnes HealthCare. He was 82.
The former longtime Towson resident lived at Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville since 1990. He was an engineer at Bendix-Frieze in Towson for 36 years and retired in 1977.
A native of Pigtown in Southwest Baltimore, he graduated from Southern High School and served as a radioman in the Army in Europe during World War II.
He was a life member of American Legion Post No. 22 in Towson and American Legion Post No. 119, where he was a member of the 40/8 Club. In 1950, he married Nellie Tracey, who died in 1970.
Graveside services were set for 2 p.m. today at Baltimore National Cemetery, 5501 Frederick Ave.
He is survived by two nephews, Santo Miceli of Glen Burnie and John Miceli of Catonsville; and two nieces, Mary Tormollan of Brooklyn Park and Dorothy Dupski of Brooklyn.
Kimberly Marie Boulden, 32, dancer in Baltimore area
Kimberly Marie Boulden, who performed in area nightclubs, died March 24 of a coronary disorder at her Rosedale residence. She was 32.
The self-employed entertainer had worked as a dancer in the Baltimore area.
Born in Philadelphia, she was raised in Gibbstown, N.J., Philadelphia and Westminster, where she attended public schools. Ms. Boulden, who later earned a general equivalency diploma, had lived in Rosedale since 1989.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Zion United Methodist Church, West Main Street in Cecilton.
She is survived by two daughters, Tabitha Marie Boulden and Amber Faith Boulden; her father, Wayne L. Boulden Sr. of Rising Sun; her mother, Sandra L. Moyer of Levittown, Pa.; four brothers, Wayne L. Boulden Jr. of Cedar Park, Texas, Mark Moyer of Levittown, and Brandan Boulden and Jason Boulden, both of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; and her maternal grandparents, Bud and Doris Moyer of Levittown.
