Northeast coach Sweet resigns

Steve Sweet has resigned as football coach at Northeast High in Pasadena after two winless seasons. The Eagles hold Anne Arundel County's longest current losing streak at 21.

"I'm in graduate school with an internship and that's three nights a week. I missed practice two nights a week during football season and it wouldn't be fair to continue," said Sweet.

Assistants Steve Gorski, the boys lacrosse coach, and Mike Cotham, who has been at the school for 20 years, are expected to be apply for the football job.
