A teen-age boy was injured yesterday when he fell several feet while climbing the side of a train tunnel in Patapsco Valley State Park near the Glen Artney Area, said Baltimore County fire and police officials.

The youth, 15, whose name was not released, was climbing the side of a CSX Railroad tunnel near the 200 block of Frederick Road about 3 p.m. when he fell several feet and suffered head injuries, officials said. It's believed a friend ran to a nearby packaging firm on River Road and reported the incident.

Police said the youth was taken by county Fire Department ambulance to a landing site on Ilchester Road in nearby Howard County and flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where his condition was not available last night.
