Fire company gives honors to emergency response team

Pleasant Valley Community Fire Company recently presented awards for 1998 and installed 1999 officers at its annual banquet.

The top 10 fire responders for 1998 were: Richard Harman Sr., Kim Royer, Michael Swartzbaugh, Robert McCurdy, William Wantz, Michael Gist, Forrest Shaw, John Royer Jr., Michael Bowie and Charles Lee.

The top 10 ambulance responders were: Kimberly Royer, Jeffrey Schaffer, Charles Velte, Michael Swartzbaugh, Sue Mott, Charles Lee, Mike Chrest, Wayne Fisher, Robert McCurdy, Josh Willet and Wendy Bowersox (tie).

The top 10 fund-raisers were: Scott Smith, Brenda Hay, Betty Gragg, Ernest Stewart, Dave Warehime, Jean Means, Barbara Davis, Helen Clarkson, Deborah Wantz and John Means Sr.

Administrative officers are: Jack Wagner, president; Michael Swartzbaugh, vice president; Randy Stair, secretary; Glenn Hay, treasurer; and John Means Sr., Richard Smith, Robert Smith, Stephen Wantz, David Warehime, board of directors.

Fire line officers are: William Wantz, fire chief; Michael Gist, assistant chief; Stephen Wantz, captain; Karl Wantz, first lieutenant; John Royer Jr., second lieutenant; Robert Fogle, third lieutenant; Forrest Shaw, fourth lieutenant; Richard Harman Sr., fire police captain; Fred Hooper, fire police lieutenant.

Emergency Medical Services officers are: Jeffrey Schaffer, captain; Charles Velte, first lieutenant; Charles Lookingbill, second lieutenant; Charles Lee, third lieutenant.
