The State Highway Administration's improvements along Route 140 between Leidy Road and Littlestown Pike are on schedule and should be complete in late fall.

Work includes resurfacing and widening about two miles of road.

Beginning Monday, single-lane closures will be in effect along eastbound Route 140 from Route 27 to Route 97 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays. Night lane closures will be in effect between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday to Thursday; 11 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday; and 9 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday.

Double lane closures will be in effect on the westbound side at the same times.

The closures are necessary to enable SHA crews to install a temporary concrete traffic barrier along the median and shoulder.

The $1.7 million contract was awarded to Valley Quarriers Inc. of Chambersburg, Pa.

Golf Etc. shop to open tomorrow on Main Street

Tom Meads will open his new shop, Golf Etc., from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow in the old fire station on East Main Street.

Refreshments will be served, and a ribbon cutting will be held.

The shop will feature custom clubs and accessories and a computer driving range to analyze a golfer's swing.

Westminster: A resident of Avenel Circle told police Monday that her vehicle was damaged while it was parked in front of her home. Damage was estimated at $100.
