Carroll County and Hampstead officials are updating the comprehensive plan for the north county community.

Workshops have been scheduled to give residents and businesses a chance to participate in the planning.

During the workshops, officials will try to identify the community's strengths, its challenges, goals and direction.

The first workshop will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the North Carroll High School media center, 3801 Hampstead-Mexico Road.

Hampstead: Firefighters responded at 8: 51 p.m. Tuesday to fallen utility wires on Clarkes Country Lane at Neudecker Road. Units were out 37 minutes.
