FINE CHINA, crisp linens, dainty sandwiches and delicious cakes are some of the tea-time accouterment adding ambience to a special party coming to Linthicum.
The Woman's Club of Linthicum Heights is presenting an "Angelic Tea Party" and a vintage fashion show April 10 at St. John Lutheran Church, 300 W. Maple Road, Linthicum. There will be two seatings, 11 a.m. and 2: 30 p.m. Tables may be reserved.
Club members have collected clothing older than the century and as recent as World War II from members and friends for what should be a nostalgic show.
The oldest dress is from 1890. There also will be a black, Paris-made flapper dress with jet beads, a 1920s cream and peach organdy flapper dress with hand-painted roses and a rose evening gown with a black velvet cape from the 1940s. Military nurses' uniforms from World War I and World War II also will be modeled.
In addition, angel memorabilia, angel and Victorian crafts, tea baskets and herbal gifts will be on sale.
Shirley Beck and Celeste Riddle are co-chairing the event. The profits will go to the club's charitable contributions in the community.
The Woman's Club of Linthicum Heights is a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs.

Herbs and words
Diane Horn of the Hidden Garden in Arbutus will share her knowledge of herbs and container gardening at 7 p.m. Tuesday with the Ferndale Garden Club.
The club meets at Ferndale Senior Center, 7205 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd.
In keeping with the theme of the program, members are asked to bring their favorite herb recipe. Debi Burkman will collect them and make a recipe book.

AARP gathering
The Patapsco Valley Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons meets Wednesday at St. Christopher's Church, 118 Marydell Road.
A social hour with refreshments starts at noon, and the program begins at 12: 45 p.m.
Paul Bagley, publicity chairman, said the speaker will be Robert Rappaport from the Lions Vision Research and Rehabilitation Center of the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. He will discuss "Help for Low Vision." A business meeting will be held after the program.
Members are reminded to take canned goods and nonperishable donations to the meeting.

New Scout leaders
Boy Scout Troop 550 in Linthicum has elected a new group of Scouts to leadership positions for the next six months.
The Scout leaders form the cornerstones of the troop's program. It is through their planning, organization and collective efforts that the troop receives its direction and achieves its goals.
The troop elected Cory Senter, senior patrol leader; Dan Severn, assistant senior patrol leader and quartermaster; Travis Elseroad, librarian; Devin O'Brien, scribe; John Henkel and Chali Kim, instructors; Scott Taylor, guide; Chris LaWall, Flaming Arrow patrol leader; Bill McKercher, Flaming Arrow assistant patrol leader; Jordan Wilson, Pedro patrol leader; and Jason Carter, Pedro assistant patrol leader.
