Mount Airy church seeking donations for the needy

THE BALTIMORE SUN

ST. JAMES EPISCOPAL Church in Mount Airy will participate in "Blanket the World With Love," a charitable program sponsored by the Church World Service Blanket Program.

The community assistance effort helps those in need and those affected by disasters.

St. James would appreciate donations of clean blankets of any size, or $5 to provide a wool blanket to a needy individual.

Blanket donations may be taken to the church office at 204 N. Main St. Checks should be made payable to St. James and marked "Blanket Project."

In addition to the blanket drive, food donations are needed for Mount Airy NET, a community assistance organization that helps those in need because of disasters or other hardships.

The NET's food pantry is low on several items that were distributed during the holidays. Canned goods, cereals, powdered milk, diapers, toilet paper and laundry detergent would be greatly appreciated.

A drop box is available in the education wing of the church.
