A masked man fled a Finksburg convenience store Tuesday without getting anything after the store's clerk refused his demand for money from the register, state police said yesterday.
Troopers said the man entered Jiffy Mart in the 2200 block of Baltimore Blvd. about 9 p.m. and demanded money.

Westminster student named to college dean's list
Jessica A. Seidel was named to the dean's list with highest honors for the fall 1998 semester at Western Maryland College.
She is studying abroad at the Center for Cross Cultural Studies in Seville, Spain, where she is taking courses in Spanish language and culture.
Jessica is a junior with a double major in Spanish and French. She also is a member of Alpha Nu Omega sorority. She is a 1996 graduate of Westminster High School.
She is the daughter of Barbara Guthrie and Ethan Seidel, both of Westminster.
Fire
Westminster: Firefighters from Reese, Pleasant Valley and Manchester assisted Westminster at 11: 21 a.m. Tuesday, responding to an electrical fire in the first block of Monroe St. Units were out 16 minutes.
