New foundation to help renovate city home

The Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors announced that it has established a charitable foundation and guaranteed a minimum of $10,000 to renovate a home in Baltimore City.

In its first act, the GBBR Foundation has decided to form a partnership with the Chesapeake Habitat for Humanity.

Gilbert D Marsiglia, past president of the GBBR, will be the foundation's first chairman.

Veronica Reynolds, an associate broker with O'Conor, Piper & Flynn ERA has been awarded the Accredited Buyer Representation designation by the Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council of the National Association of Realtors.

Reynolds joins more than 12,000 real estate professionals who have earned the designation. She earned it by completing a two-day course in buyer representation, a written examination on legal and practical aspects of client representation and practical ex-perience in the field of buyer representation.

Apple Tree homes and Orchard Development will hold a grand opening of Willow Oaks, a single-family home community designed for seniors in Laurel, on March 20-21. The furnished models will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The Greater Capital Association of Realtors honored the top real estate sales performers for 1998 at its annual luncheon.

Marc Fleisher of Long & Foster Real Estate Inc. won the award for the highest dollar volume last year and Pardoe Real Estate's Tom Murphy won for the most transactions. Michael Manfredi earned the first-year licensee award.

The Chesapeake Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors will hold its seventh annual Excellence in Construction Awards Banquet from 6 to 9 p.m. March 22 at the Lowes Annapolis Hotel.

The local chapter represets more than 200 companies in Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Prince George's and St Mary's counties. Some of the awards to be presented include commercial construction, residential construction and institutional construction.

O'Conor, Piper & Flynn ERA announced that Sara and Phil Davidson joined the firm's Bel Air/Forest Hill office as sales agents and Sharon Kress has been named manager of its Hanover office.

Century 21 announced that Dorothy Pfaff has joined the firm as a sales associate.

Century 21 Yaffe Team Realty announced that Hope Fribush joined the firm and will be responsible for residential real estate, corporate relocation, public relations and client services.

Key Bank and Trust announced that Melanie Cox joined the company as operations manager of its mortgage department, while Theresa A. Draper was named as senior underwriter and 203(k) loan director.
