Two weekend concerts celebrating Celtic heritage should help get Annapolis in the mood for St. Patrick's Day.
Tomorrow, the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts will feature tenor John McDermott performing traditional Celtic ballads and contemporary pieces from his "Danny Boy Collection" and "Shamrocks and Heather" recordings. Guests are invited to a pre-concert reception with McDermott from 7 p.m. to 7: 45 p.m. The concert begins at 8 p.m.
Tickets for the concert and the reception are available at the Maryland Hall ticket office.
Proceeds will benefit the Ancient Order of Hibernians Project Children Fund, an exchange program for children from Northern Ireland that often puts Catholic and Protestant children in the same home.

Tomorrow, the Naval Academy Band will present its first concert of the month. The performance features Petty Officer Trent Turner on clarinet and guest violinist Paula McCarthy of Annapolis.

The presentation includes a candlelight tour of the historic home and museum and light refreshments. Tours are from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the house at 107 Duke of Gloucester St. in Annapolis. Admission is $8, or $6 for CCHA members. Reservations are encouraged.
