Guess My Sport

My name is Jonny Moseley. I ski down a course that is full of bumps of snow. I bounce over and around the bumps. On two large bumps, I soar into the air and perform wild tricks. One trick is called a 360 Mute Grab. I spin around and cross my skis. Then I grab one ski. I performed this trick at the 1998 Winter Olympics and won a gold medal! Can you guess my sport?

ANSWER: My sport is moguls skiing.

Wacky Sports Inventions

INVENTION: Yellow Baseball

WHO INVENTED IT: General Manager Larry MacPhail of the Brooklyn Dodgers

WHEN: 1938

HOW IT WORKED: Regular baseballs were coated with yellow dye to make them easier to see.

WHY IT FAILED: Yellow balls were used in the first game of a doubleheader on August 2, 1938. Dodger pitcher Freddie Fitzsimmons complained that the dye came off on his hands. After three more tries in 1939, the Dodgers quit painting balls yellow.
