Northwestern District
Home invasion: About 8: 30 p.m. Monday, three armed men wearing ski masks entered a house in the 4200 block of Park Heights Ave., aimed a firearm at a woman who lived there and pushed their way past her up the stairs. She escaped through the front door and alerted a police officer. The men ransacked a bedroom, then escaped out the back door while the woman's mother was inside. No one was injured and it was not known if anything was taken.
Southern District
Attempted carjacking: About 6 p.m. Monday, a man trying to escape police officers in the 1200 block of W. Pratt St. attempted three carjackings. The driver of the first car drove away through the intersection. After unsuccessfully trying to get into a second car, the suspect tried the car of an off-duty police officer who worked as a security guard at Mount Clare Junction shopping center. With the guard's help, police arrested Joseph Petroff Jr., 31, and charged him with attempted carjacking. Police said they did not know his address.
Armed robbery: At 1: 55 p.m Tuesday, an armed man wearing a ski mask entered Jack's Food Market in the 1800 block of Light St., pointed a handgun at the owner and took cash.
Baltimore County
Cockeysville Precinct
Theft: On Thursday or Friday, someone stole an auger worth $3,000 from the 12800 block of Stone Hill Road. The theft was reported Tuesday.
Grand auto theft and destruction of property: tion of property: Shortly after 1 a.m. yesterday, police began receiving numerous reports of objects being thrown through windows. When they investigated, they found that two suspects had stolen a pickup truck and smashed several cars and mailboxes on Eastridge Road heading southbound from Padonia Road to Timonium Road. The suspects also stole items from unlocked cars, including a new set of dishes, and threw them through windows. At 2: 45 a.m., police said, they arrested two men, 18 and 19.
White Marsh Precinct
Burglary: Between 12 p.m. and 3: 30 p.m. Monday, someone entered a house on the 8500 block of Kings Ridge Road, opened the safe and stole $2,000. No forced entry was found.
