Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Howard County.
Ellicott City: A gunman entered Wendy's restaurant in the 9100 block of Old Annapolis Road on Monday and demanded that the manager open the safe. After putting an undetermined amount of money in a a duffel bag, the robber left through a back door.
Elkridge: A 32-year-old man in the 6400 block of Loudon Ave. threatened to kill himself Monday and refused to leave for three hours. Negotiators were called to the scene, and the man eventually was taken to Howard County General Hospital. There were no injuries.
Owen Brown: An intruder entered a trailer in the 8000 block of Keeton Way on Friday through a bedroom window, ransacked the residence and stole about $400.
Kings Contrivance: An intruder entered a garage in the 10100 block of Goodin Circle on Saturday and stole a computer and a security box containing a driver's license and credit cards. The homeowners were at a neighbor's house.
Wilde Lake: Someone stole $30 from a man selling flowers at Broken Land Parkway and Little Patuxent Parkway on Friday. The thief left in a red or orange Mercury Bobcat.
Hickory Ridge: A man entered a house in the 10400 block of Blue Arrow Court on Saturday and stabbed another man three times, using a pair of scissors. The victim, last reported in serious but stable condition, had filed a report eight hours earlier saying his former friend was making harassing phone calls. Police arrested Charles Edward Fitzgerald, 45, and charged him with attempted first-degree murder.
Savage: A woman dropping off a deposit Monday at a bank in the 7300 block of Assateague Drive was approached by two men who took the bag and fled in a 1969 Ford Mustang. They later abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
