Landau travel director for Safe Harbor

Safe Harbor Travel Group hired Robert Landau as its personal travel director. A former cruise director, professional seminar conductor and syndicated travel advice columnist, he will direct the Canton-based leisure time and travel agency's personal travel specialists staff, develop and implement promotional presentation and lecture on cruise and vacation issues.

Ciena names Castellon to Latin American post

Ciena Corp. hired M. Arely Castellon as a vice president and general manager. In her new post, Castellon will oversee the Linthicum-based telecommunications equipment maker's sales and marketing operations in Latin America, where it believes deregulation will open up new business opportunities.

Castellon, who has 20 years' experience with AT&T;, MCI, Sprint International (Global One) and Xerox, most recently was vice president and general manager for Motorola International Network Ventures in Latin America.

Baumann regional manager for FSG Leasing

FSG Leasing Inc. appointed Albert Baumann as regional manager of business development for the Laurel-based equipment financing company. A graduate of the University of Maryland and the Maryland School of Banking, he most recently was financial manager of Encore Marketing International.

Taylor is executive chef at Hayfields Country Club

Hayfields Country Club, in Hunt Valley, has hired Robert Taylor as its executive chef. A graduate of the Baltimore International Culinary College, he previously was chef at Hamilton's in Fell Point and the Milton Inn.

Taylor has also studied at the International School of Confectionery Arts and the Washington Sommelier Society, and was awarded the silver medal by the Chefs Panel of Ireland.
