Chapelgate trailed by one with a minute remaining before Chris Davidson hit a three-pointer and John Bennett made two free throws, as the Flames edged Capital Christian, 68-67, in the championship of the Maryland Christian Schools State Tournament at Washington Bible College in Lanham.

The win marks the first title for the Flames in the tournament's three-year history.

Davidson finished with a game-leading 34 points, scoring 21 points in the second half -- 12 in the fourth quarter.

Bennett added 15 points.

Jonathan Bunch led Capital Christian with 19.
