The 36th annual Scholar Athlete Awards dinner sponsored by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame will be held at Martin's West in Woodlawn at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

A total of $10,000 in scholarships will be awarded to five regional winners, with a grand winner selected from the five. Keith Mills of WMAR-TV 2 will be master of ceremonies.

Special achievement awards will be given to Maryland Class 1A football champion Oakland Mills, 2A champion Urbana (Frederick) and NCAA Division III Centennial Conference champion Western Maryland.

In addition, Gilman School will be honored with the A. Paul Menton Award for the area's top scholastic team, and Severna Park football coach Andy Borland will receive the Service to Football award.
