To show students that doing well can bring them recognition, the Citizens Advisory Committee of Quarterfield Elementary School has asked The Sun to help publicize its Student of the Week. Winners of the honor must write about themselves.
Hello. My name is Jamar Snell. I am 10 years old and I attend Quarterfield Elementary as a fifth-grader. I am a Quarterfield Elementary peer mediator, safety, a member of the human relations committee, and I play basketball for the Fort Meade Youth Services. I have a brother, mom, dad, and a dog named Buddy. I have black hair and brown eyes. My favorite food is pizza. My favorite sports are soccer and basketball. I was born in Weisbaden, Germany, on Dec. 1, 1988, but I grew up in San Vito, Italy.
My family moved to Fort Meade, Md. in 1993.
When I grow up, I want to attend the University of North Carolina and later become a professional basketball player.
