$12,000 seized, man charged in drug probe

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Howard County police have seized $12,000 in cash and arrested a 25-year-old Glen Burnie man in Elkridge as part of a six-month investigation of drug trafficking in the county's southeastern corner.

With the help of U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration personnel, officers arrested Curtis Keith Capers of the 100 block of Morris Court about 3: 10 p.m. Thursday after observing a suspected drug deal in the parking lot of the Elkridge Corners shopping center at U.S. 1 and Montgomery Road, said police spokesman Sgt. Morris Carroll.

Police alleged that Capers was attempting to purchase a kilo of cocaine with the $12,000. He was charged with three counts each of possession, distribution and intent to distribute cocaine.

Police said their investigation of drug trafficking in Elkridge, Ellicott City and Jessup would continue and that more arrests are expected.
