Terps at a glance

The week in review

Won at Georgia Tech, 91-60, Sunday

Won at Cole over Clemson, 77-60, Wednesday

Who's hot

Steve Francis is on fire. The junior guard connected on 21 of 27 shots in the two wins, and they weren't all transition dunks, either. He hit six of nine three-pointers.

Who's not

Mike Mardesich. The backup center continues to have trouble finishing, as a 2-for-9 week dropped his field goal percentage to .373, a liability for a big man.

Quotable "Since Obinna [Ekezie] went down, our guys off the bench have stepped up and kept our defense going." -- Gary Williams, coach The week ahead

At Florida State, tomorrow, 1: 30 p.m.

What to look for

The Terps forced 23 turnovers and the Seminoles' defense was a joke in a 107-87 laugher Jan. 27. That game seemed to squeeze the life out of Florida State, as it was the first of eight straight conference losses. Look for Maryland to press and run and thrive in the most friendly road environment in the ACC.

What's at stake

The Seminoles are going through the motions, while the Terps are making a case for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. Maryland can reach 13 ACC wins for the first time and notch its second-highest winning percentage (.813) ever in conference games. The record is .833 (10-2), in 1974-75.
