Food feasts this weekend, next week


THE LATEST outbreak of flu has many neighbors, including yours truly, feeling less than human these days. My case was mild. No massive disruption of daily living, just a lot of aches, pains, sneezing, tiredness and a whale of a cough. Where is the warm weather when you need it? Take two aspirin and call me later, Pasadena.

All you can eat

Enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. tomorrow at Galilee Lutheran Church, 4652 Mountain Road.

The menu features pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, creamed chipped beef, toast, fresh fruit and beverages.

The cost is $5 for adults, and $2.50 for children ages 4 to 11. Youngsters younger than age 4 eat for free.

Pampered chef

Jenkins Memorial Church, 133 Riviera Drive, will hold a Pampered Chef party, to benefit the building fund, from 10 a.m. to noon March 6.

The demonstrator will whip up delicious foods for tasting, using recipes and kitchen utensils the company sells.

Part of the proceeds will be donated to the church's building fund. Those planning on attending must reserve a spot by March 2.

Ham dinner

There's more delicious food to be consumed at Pasadena United Methodist Church.

The congregation is sponsoring a ham dinner from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at 61 Ritchie Highway.

The menu includes scalloped potatoes, green beans, homemade rolls and desserts.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, and $4 for children ages 4 to 12. Children younger than age 4 eat for free.

Proceeds will be used for church mission projects.

Business mixer

The Pasadena Business Association and the Greater Severna Park Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a joint business mixer from 5: 30 p.m. to 7: 30 p.m. Wednesday at 1st Mariner Bank, 366A Ritchie Highway.

The cost is $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Reservations must be made today. Information: 410-987-4887.

All-night bingo

Marathon bingo players should mark their calendars for the March 5 all-night bingo blast, sponsored by the auxiliary of Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Co.

The door will open at 6 p.m. with game play from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Several packages, from $26 to $43, are available. All feature paper cards, and include regular games, specials, warm-ups, super 7, fill the card and jackpots.
