Getting an early start; Think About It

Certain children start reading well before kindergarten. Two researchers at the University of Saskatchewan sampled 1,400 kindergarteners and found 20 very early readers - about 1.5 percent .

Other researchers have found that most very early readers don't differ in general intelligence from other children, but they all come from home environments that support reading.
