Burglary/arrest: A man was arrested Sunday in the 1800 block of St. Paul St. shortly after he entered a house on the block and stole a vacuum cleaner valued at more than $100. Residents gave police a description of the man, who they saw leave the dwelling, carrying the property.
Theft: After arriving at her destination in the 1400 block of McCulloh St. about 10 p.m. Sunday, a passenger gave a Royal Cab driver a $20 bill to pay for the $2 trip. The woman reported that the driver told her he couldn't make change and kept the $20. After an exchange of words, the woman got out of the cab and reported the incident. Police were seeking the man who was driving Cab 658 at the time.
Assault: A man, 29, was in the 900 block of Pennsylvania Ave. about 7: 40 p.m. Sunday when one of several men stopped him and asked if he knew a man named Louis. Before the victim could reply, one of the men struck him several times with a length of wood. The men fled, and the victim was treated for head injuries at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Stolen car: A blue four-door 1992 Plymouth Sundance with tags EYA 237 and owned by a Baltimore police officer was stolen yesterday in the 5400 block of Jamestown Court. A set of handcuffs, a baton and a winter uniform coat were in the car.
Carjacking: Two men, one armed with a handgun, forced a man from a maroon four-door Mitsubishi with tags FZM 196 in the 5600 block of The Alameda and drove off about 7: 30 p.m. yesterday.
Robbery: Three men, two armed with handguns, robbed Little Caesers pizza shop in the 6300 block of York Road of an undisclosed sum of money about 9 p.m. Sunday. The robbers ordered one employee to remove money from the cash register and another to empty the safe. The employee was unable to open the safe, and the men fled.

Suspect sought: A first-degree murder warrant has been issued for the arrest of Corey M. Reed, 19, of the 800 block of N. Curley St. in the shooting of Terties Barnes, 21, of the first block of N. Linwood Ave. Detective Joseph Phelps said Barnes was shot in the head about 1: 30 a.m. Jan. 25 in the 2800 block of Pulaski Highway and died at the scene. A motive for the killing was not known. Anyone with information about Reed's whereabouts is asked to call Phelps at 410-396- 2100.
