The Metropolitan Regional Information System reported that January sales through its multiple list system grew by 15 percent over the same period last year.
The system, which covers most of Maryland as well as parts of Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia, recorded more than 6,000 sales and more than $1 billion in sales transactions.
More than 26,000 Realtors, including those who belong to the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors, subscribe to the service.

The National Association of Home Builders recognized in January the winners of the 1999 "Best of Seniors' Housing" awards. The awards were based on accessibility, marketability, affordability and lifestyle of the projects with regard to seniors.
One of the awards went to Pleasant View Gardens in Baltimore. The project, developed by A&R; Harkins Joint Venture, won for Best Mixed Use Project.
Cornerstone Homes Inc.recently received the Quality Builders Warranty Corp. Mark of Excellence Award.
The award is given to builders who have demonstrated outstanding craftsmanship and customer service by achieving technical excellence and commitment to homeowner satisfaction.
Moore, Warfield & Glick Realtors Inc. said Tom Ettz, associate broker, completed an advanced course in marketing new homes conducted by the Residential Sales Council of the Realtors National Marketing Institute.
The two-day course covered new-home areas such as merchandising and marketing of both standing construction and pre-sale, as well as target market specificity, new products and customer acceptance and buyer after-sales service.
