By the numbers
0-14 Connecticut's three-point shooting in its 53-48 win last Saturday over Seton Hall. It marked the first time in 222 games that the Huskies failed to hit a three.
8.8-1 The assist-to-turnover ratio of Wisconsin guard Mike Kelly in Big Ten games this season, with 44 assists and only five turnovers in 13 games.
61 The age of first-year Murray State coach Tevester Anderson, who spent more than 35 years as a high school and college assistant before getting his first college head coaching job. Anderson, who turns 62 next week, has coached the Racers to a 24-4 record.
102 Consecutive games Xavier guards Gary Lumpkin and Lenny Brown have started together. The pair, whose careers together date to grade school, have won 72 games.
Teams on the way up
Ohio State: The 20-6 Buckeyes have been revitalized by the play of guards Scoonie Penn and Michael Redd. Winners of five straight after Wednesday's one-point victory at Indiana, the team's 20 wins are the most since 1991-92, the last year it made the NCAAs.
Oklahoma: The Sooners have won their last six, four of them coming on the road, to move to 19-7 overall. Oklahoma is 6-1 on the road in the Big 12, but play host to slumping Kansas tomorrow in Norman.
Teams on the way down
Minnesota: Despite breaking a three-game losing streak at Penn State on Wednesday, the Gophers have lost four of their last six. At 15-8 (6-7 in the Big Ten) the Gophers are still hanging onto an RPI of 20 that could help them get into the NCAAs.
Dayton: If this has been a down year in the Atlantic 10, it has been a disastrous season for the Flyers, who have lost eight of their last 10 and are 10-13 overall. Not good for a team picked to finish third in its division behind Xavier and GW.
