Terps at a glance

The week in review

Won at Cole, 88-72, over Virginia, Saturday

Won at N.C. State, 63-50, Wednesday

Who's hot

Terence Morris' shooting slump didn't last long. He made 13 of his 21 field-goal attempts in the two wins.

Who's not

Obinna Ekezie. His career-ending injury during Tuesday's practice is one of the saddest events Maryland basketball has had to deal with in recent years.

He said it "I've maintained all along that as much credit and praise as some of their other players get, Terence Morris is a fantastic player." -- Herb Sendek, N.C. State coach

The week ahead

Schedule No. 12 North Carolina tomorrow (4 p.m.) at Cole Field House.

What to look for

Ekezie loved to play against Carolina, which will try to expose Maryland's suddenly thin inside game. On Jan. 13, the Terps' half-court traps worked, and they'll try to wear down point guard Ed Cota again.

What's at stake

North Carolina talks about overtaking Maryland for second in the ACC, but the Terps are gunning for their third straight win and first regular-season sweep of Carolina since 1989-90. Maryland doesn't have to hold back anything, because it has next week off. Both are in position to enhance their NCAA tournament seed.
