Shorewomen rout Bryn Mawr, 72-38; State


Freshman forward Janine Morehead scored a team-high 11 points and junior guard Maggy Kilroy (Notre Dame Prep) added 10 as Washington College downed visiting Bryn Mawr, 72-38, in women's Centennial Conference action last night in Chestertown.

The win keeps the Shorewomen (12-6, 6-4) in second place in the East Division. The Mawrters fell to 1-16 and 0-10 in the conference.

Richelle Takemoto led Bryn Mawr with 11.

Bowie State 64, Virginia Union 47: Deidra Fields scored 20 points to power the Bulldogs (18-3) past the visiting Panthers (12-8).


Loyola 96, Denver 92, OT: Jason Rowe scored 29 to help the visiting Greyhounds (9-11) rally from an 11-point halftime deficit to beat the Pioneers (7-14). Russell Martin led Denver with 26.

Blanchard Hurd (Milford Mill) added 21 points and Anthony Walker added 19, including 5-for-8 on three-pointers. Brian Carroll scored 17 and hit four of six three-pointers.

The Greyhounds have won four of five since breaking a seven-game losing streak.

Virginia Union 83, Bowie State 62: Chandar Bingham and William Davis scored 18 points each to lead Virginia Union (14-4, 8-3) past Bowie State (2-19, 0-11) in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association game.
