Maine held Towson to 15 second-half points on the way to a 72-48 win yesterday in an America East women's game in Orono, Maine.
Senior Kelly Bowman scored a game-high 17 points for Maine (12-4, 8-0), which led 35-33 at halftime.
The Tigers (8-9, 3-6) failed to make a field goal over the opening nine minutes of the second half, and the Black Bears charged to a 52-36 lead with 11 minutes left.
Shniece Perry led Towson with 13 points, five assists and five steals.
Loyola 58, Iona 51: Jennifer Bongard and Jina Mosley combined for 11 points during a 15-2 run to start the second half as the host Greyhounds (12-5, 5-4) turned back the Gaels (6-10, 3-5) in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game.
Loyola improved to 6-0 at home.
Iona led 21-19 at the half, but the Greyhounds' run over the first five minutes of the second half gave them a 34-23 lead.
The Gaels pulled within 53-49 with 40 seconds remaining, but Loyola sealed the win by making six of eight free-throw attempts.
Mosley finished with 12 points, Bongard had 11 and Shannon Cohen added 10.
Villa Julie 57, Wilson College 30: Nancy Zentz scored 14 points and had 13 rebounds to lead the host Mustangs over the Phoenix.
Heidi Moldenhauer and Nicole Deponai had 10 points apiece for Villa Julie, which jumped to a 29-11 halftime lead.
