Prince George's man, 32, charged in shooting outside Laurel nightclub; Del. woman was wounded while leaving Club Utopia

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Anne Arundel County police arrested a Prince George's County man yesterday on a charge of attempted murder in connection with a shooting outside a Laurel nightclub early Monday.

Ho La Kyung, 32, of the 600 block of Central Ave. in Capital Heights, was charged with attempted first-degree murder and is being held without bail at the county Detention Center.

The victim, So Young Sharp, 56, of Delaware, was shot in the hand as she was leaving Club Utopia in the 3200 block of Laurel-Fort Meade Road. She was flown by state police MedEvac helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where she was in critical but stable condition yesterday.

Police said Sharp, a salad bar attendant at Dover Air Force Base, was in Laurel visiting a sick friend over the weekend. They had dinner Sunday night, then went to Club Utopia. As they left, a man with a "long gun" opened fire from about 10 feet away. The third shot hit her hand.

"I am angry. My hand can't move," Sharp said.
