Police seek a suspect in string of 12 west Columbia burglaries


Howard County police are searching for a burglar who has struck a dozen top-floor apartments in west Columbia by smashing in the front door, police said.

The burglar has committed the crimes during the day, stealing such things as jewelry, laptop computers and cash, and fleeing on foot, police said.

Burglaries have taken place in the 11300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway, the 10700 block of Hickory Ridge Road and the 10600 block of Gramercy Place.

Two apartments were robbed Wednesday on Gramercy Place. The thief took an unknown amount of cash, police said.
