The Horse World Expo this weekend at the Maryland State Fairgrounds features more than 40 stallions in demonstrations; a parade of breeds; presentations by 4-H clubs; and a variety of horse products and services from more than 280 vendors. Educational seminars will run the gamut from "Controlling Your Horse Without Force" by Dan Sumerel to "Solutions for Shoeing Problems." All activities are indoors.
The Horse World Expo runs from noon to 9 p.m. tomorrow, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Maryland State Fairgrounds' Cow Palace, York Road in Timonium. $7; $3 ages 10-14 and free for ages under 10. Call 410-344-0633.
Treasure the day
Explore the Walters Art Gallery's most precious objects and create an ornament of your own on Saturday as part of the museum's "Treasure Trove" family event. As part of the museum's ArtWard Bound program, children ages 4 to 14 and adults can obtain a booklet that describes works in the collection and then take a self-guided tour. Afterward, visitors can create a masterpiece of their own. The "Treasure Trove" event runs every Saturday in January.

They're cold-blooded. Have fangs. Sometimes even hiss. And they're awaiting your visit Saturday at the All-Maryland Reptile Show in Havre de Grace. Peruse more than 85 tables of live animals, reptile books and magazines, food supplies, cages and all sorts of reptile equipment, or buy, sell and trade reptiles. All animals must be contained in cages or aquariums. No venomous reptiles or endangered species are permitted.
