Quantrill breaks leg tobogganing

THE BALTIMORE SUN

TORONTO -- Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Paul Quantrill broke his right leg in a toboggan accident recently at his home in Port Hope, Ontario, the team announced yesterday.

Quantrill, 30, had surgery performed on the leg yesterday at Sunnybrook Health Science Center in Toronto. A rod was inserted to stabilize the leg. He is expected to be re-evaluated in six weeks. There is no word on how much time he is expected to miss.

Quantrill, an eight-year veteran, appeared in 82 games, all in relief, for Toronto with a 3-4 record, a career-high seven saves, and a 2.59 ERA.
