Axent Technologies Inc., a Rockville computer security company, announced changes in its upper management yesterday. John Becker, 41, the company's former president, is now chairman of Axent's board. He retains the title of chief executive officer.
Brett Jackson, 40, Axent's former executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, was named president and chief operating officer.
Richard Lefebvre, 52, who joined Axent at its founding in 1994 as chairman and CEO, is retiring. He will remain on Axent's board.
Becker and Jackson are founders of the company, which had $41.7 million in revenue in 1997 and bought Waltham, Mass.-based Raptor Systems Inc. in a $246 million stock deal last February. Axent has about 400 employees.
In its most recent reported quarter, which ended Sept. 30, Axent had $24 million in revenue and net income of $4.8 million.
"As the company has grown and gotten more complex, some changes are part of the company's progression," Jackson said.
Axent stock fell 50 cents in Nasdaq trading yesterday, closing at $30.0625.
