McGowan made six of 10 shots in leading the Tigers (6-4, 1-1) to their second straight win, ending a three-game winning streak by the Blue Hens (6-4, 0-2).
Leading 41-39 with 15: 06 left, Towson pulled away with a 16-1 run and led 57-40 with 7: 31 remaining. McGowan, who scored 10 second-half points, hit two three-pointers during the decisive run.
Jess Gordon added 14 points for Towson and Shniece Perry 11.
The Jaspers (3-7, 0-2) cut a 12-point halftime deficit to 40-38 before the Greyhounds (8-2, 1-1) responded with a 12-2 run, capped by Lauren Slater's three-pointer with 10: 07 left.
Loyola also received 13 points from Jennifer Bongard and 10 from Erica Rath.
The Greyhounds, who haven't lost consecutive games since early last season, shot more than 51 percent and forced 18 turnovers.
