Lockout at a glance

THE BALTIMORE SUN

NBA games lost yesterday: 3.

Total games missed: 418.

Earliest estimated date season can start: Feb. 1.

Projected player salary losses (through Feb. 1): More than $500 million.

Negotiations: Commissioner David Stern is due back in the office today after spending two weeks in Aspen, Colo., and union director Billy Hunter has told the players on his negotiating committee to be in town by tomorrow morning. "We're ready to negotiate. The league is refusing to negotiate," Hunter said yesterday. The league has set a Thursday deadline for reaching a new collective bargaining agreement before convening the Board of Governors to vote on whether to cancel the season.

Today's best canceled game: Lakers at Kings. Chris Webber, probably still dreaming about playing for the Lakers, instead plays against them.
