Tarik Walker had a goal and two assists and the Blast scored the first six goals of the game on the way to beating the Florida ThunderCats, 11-9, yesterday.
The Blast (5-10), which got goals from six players, led 6-0 after one quarter. Danny Kelly's penalty kick and a power-play goal by Doug Neely pushed the Blast's lead to 9-1 at halftime.
The ThunderCats (8-9) used an eight-goal third period to pull within 11-9, but fell short as both teams went scoreless in the final quarter. Jeanard Harbor started Florida's comeback with a power-play goal and, after Leonel Pernia scored off a restart, the ThunderCats were within 9-6.
But the Blast finished off Florida when Walker converted off an assist from Franklin McIntosh for a two-point goal with 2: 40 left.
