Bakari Ward scored 27 points to carry Goucher (9-2) to a 77-74 victory over New England College (6-4) last night in the championship game of the Panther Holiday Classic in Plymouth, N.H.

Mark Schuler added 17 for the Gophers, and Dennis Dube led the Pilgrims with 22.

Randolph-Macon 79, St. Mary's 64: Joe Goldin and Mike LaGuardia each scored 16 to power the Yellow Jackets (7-1) past the Seahawks (2-6) in the final of the Rees Jewelers Christmas Classic in Ashland, Va. Derrick Heard led St. Mary's with 15.

St. Mary's 76, Kean 56: Erica Pearson had 29 points and 10 rebounds, her ninth straight double double of the season, as host St. Mary's (6-4) breezed past Kean in a nonconference game.
