A 17-year-old Baltimore youth died and a second youth was seriously injured in a shooting early yesterday in front of a house in the first block of Dundalk Ave., Baltimore County police said.

Police knew of no motive for the shooting -- the county's 23rd homicide this year -- of James Darnell Oakley of the first block of N. Port St. The teen died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Neighbors reported hearing shots about 12: 30 a.m. and called police, said Cpl. Vickie Warehime of the Baltimore County Police Department.

A second male, also a minor, was shot and taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Police said he was in fair condition, but did not disclose his name.
