Naronda Leggett's 14-foot jump shot with one second left in overtime lifted Bowie State over American International, 65-64, in the championship game of the Best Western Classic at Bowie State last night.

The Bulldogs (7-1) had four double-digit scorers, led by Rashida Brooks, who contributed 16 points and 11 rebounds, as they extended their home winning streak to 33 games in winning the tournament for the third consecutive year.

The Yellow Jackets (7-4) led for most of the extra period before Kristen Patterson missed the first shot in a one-and-one with 12 seconds left to set up Leggett's game-winning shot.

American International forced overtime after Chantei Leonard, who had a game-high 26 points, made a three-pointer with 12 seconds left in regulation.
