Bethel A.M.E., brokers entertain city youths

Nearly 500 Baltimore youths attended the second annual "Gift to the Community" project sponsored by the Maryland Association of Mortgage Brokers and Bethel A.M.E. Community Outreach Center Sunday at the 5th Regiment Armory.

Participants at the party enjoyed dinner, entertainment, a gift and food certificate to help provide a holiday meal for their families.

More than 100 volunteers from the mortgage brokers and Bethel worked at the event, which was funded by the MAMB. Mayor Kurt L. Schmoke saluted the effort by declaring Dec. 20 "Maryland Association of Mortgage Brokers Day."

O'Conor, Piper & Flynn ERA said Carole J. McCullough of the BWI office received the new Senior Real Estate Specialist designation from the National Association of Realtors. Awarded by the SENIOR Advantage Real Estate Council of the NAR, the designation recognizes agents who specialize in meeting the needs of senior citizens.

Atlantic Builders Group Inc. said Ronald Abey and Melvin L. Stimmell joined the firm as project managers. Abey comes to Atlantic from Lee Electric Co. Stimmell previously worked for Green Contracting Co. Inc.

O'Conor, Piper & Flynn ERA said Joy Jarboe joined the Eldersburg office as a sales associate.
